What Causes Color Differences in Black Linear Lights?

The extrusion is black. The end cap is black. The canopy is black. So why do they not always look like the same black?

The same black color code does not always produce the same visual finish. Material, coating process, gloss, texture, part geometry and production batch can all change how black looks.

We often see one black linear light RFQ that simply says Black, then a black linear ceiling light arrives with a deeper bar, a greyer cap and a glossier canopy. That is not always a wrong color. It is often different materials and finish systems standing next to each other.
